LP burn vs LP lock: what is safer?
Short answer: burned LP tokens are sent to an address nobody controls, so the liquidity can never be pulled. Locked LP sits in a time-lock contract and can be withdrawn when the lock expires. Burned is stronger; a lock is only as good as its length.
What neither protects against
- Big holders selling (price can still go to near zero).
- Mint authority still ON.
- Fake locks on an unrelated or tiny pool. Check the percentage of LP covered.
pump.fun tokens
On the bonding curve there is no LP yet. When a pump.fun token graduates, its LP is burned automatically.
GlassDex shows "LP burn / lock: N% burned or locked" on every token page.
